I saw this meme and thought I’d pick it up and spread it. And now I’m curious. I’m changing the rules up a little though, this meme is a self contained meme in that your being tagged, simply calls for a response.

It’s short and sweet today folks, I have had a frantic week…So let’s get after it shall we? This week I’ve been frustrated about…

The delay in getting serious with my home business. A close friend recently reminded me that the only thing stopping me is myself.

My lack of ideas for a company name so that I can then print business cards and create a website for sales with more than just my name. This is a necessary step to add credibility and believability to my business. I even have friend willing to give out my cards to other real estate agents to further my business plans.

Having to live by the alarm clock. I’m so tired of waking up to that shrieking alarm clock and am getting serious about ending that slavery and working at home.

What are you frustrated about?

It’s the big day everyone. I had a post planned to help you with last minute preparations and to pull off a hero’s Valentine’s celebration. But then I decided to let you do that and I’d talk to you about the commercialization of the “holiday” and why I think it sucks.

Valentine’s Day is merely a commercial holiday. Let’s think about this whole pretense of love we’re expressing here. Update* for the short version of the history of Valentine’s Day, see Mike’s comment below*.

Not to mention, since Christmas I’ve been seeing Valentine’s decorations. I’m tired of pink. I’m tired of the Jared’s commercials and the dumb Valentine references and the special food that comes out during this time at big chain restaurants. I am tired of being told during every commercial break that I should expect my significant other to buy me something today because they said so. I don’t feel like it’s a special day. I’m tired of the hype.

Maybe I’m cranky over trade talks but I don’t want to hear anymore about Valentine’s Day. Thankfully, tomorrow is not Valentine’s and we have 364 days until another one pops up.

But presidents day is coming and I’m already hearing about sales. How ’bout a sale just because? How about a commercial about how much time your company donates to charity, and money?

Stop boring me with a made up holiday.

This post is not for a high school Valentine’s date, it’s for grown, over 18 consenting adults. So if you are under the age of 18, do not read this post. Okay, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way… you don’t have much time, so I hope you read and act on it right away.

Valentine’s Day is Thursday buddy, and if you and your girl have been together a while, there ARE expectations. You can always get some jewelry, and at a great price. No one said rings were necessary, get her a nice pendant or something that you can tell her is beautiful on her.

If you shop locally be watchful of price hikes, I have used Bidz several times and have gotten some wonderful jewelry from them. With the money you’ll save in the price you’ll be happy to have it overnighted to your doorstep for the momentous occasion.
