Today we’re veering off the map, a map where you can’t be found. Where no one will find you to sell you something, you can google your name and nothing will come up, you can search your phone number backwards and it will be unregistered, no matter how many years you’ve had it. So how do you make your personal life invisible?

You’ll have to start thinking like a “deadbeat”, or a witness that doesn’t want to be found. Change information submitted to the Department of Public Safety and use a drop box that won’t trace back to you for your mail. Submit several vehicle address changes on the Department of Motor Vehicles proper form over a 6 - 8 week time period to get your original information washed out of the system so it will be harder to track back to you.

Use initials and feel free to misspell your name and street name. None of these changes will affect your car title, however it will make it much harder to find Jennifer Johnson if you’re registered as J.L. Johnson with the DMV. You may want your family members and even employees (if you have any) to do the same.

Now you wonder, how do I keep my phone number from becoming public information. First, get an unlisted number and block your number from being seen on caller ID. Try to list all phones to an alias and drop box address. Next, call your phone carrier and establish a password that is necessary to obtain any information on your account. Additionally, you can request that your utilities restrict the release of your personal or business information, it would still be wise to use an alias name or company and have all mail sent to your new mail drop box.

Mail drop boxes give you a physical address along with anonymity. There are different companies that provide these along with other services such as mail forwarding. Your information is restricted from release except to the post office.
