Enjoy These Summer Photos

Here are some photos I took a few weeks ago, I think they’re pretty cool, it’s almost Halloween now and the sky looks different in the fall than it does in the summer….enjoy. :D I’ve always enjoyed the fall weather and springtime weather the best. I’ll be looking at these fondly when winter is here, lol.

Fart Around Friday!

It’s Friday finally, the weather here is great and finding videos for you this morning was relatively easy…. :)
I found this hilarious date commercial that used to air here locally, you may have seen it too…so without further ado….

LMAO!!!! Okay if you’re at work, I’m sorry. That was great huh? LOL. I’ve watched it twice now it’s hilarious. So I would say as long as something like that doesn’t happen during your date, no matter what you spend you’ll be better off than this girl. ;)

I hope the suggestions I’ve made here this week have gotten you thinking about how to save money and still have a great time by really keeping it simple. It’s not the dinner and the car that matters, it’s the person you’re sharing your time with.

Okay…to our next video!

I apologize in advance for the language he uses here…but this video is too funny not to share! I think this might be a PG rated video…

I couldn’t stop laughing, that was too funny - I love the buzzer! Oh that was so funny. Everybody have a great day and a wonderful weekend!

$20 Date Adventures!

So far we have six dates for under $20 that you can use to have a great time and not have to watch every dime. Haha! See what I did there? LOL.

Here’s what we have so far:
$20 Dates One and Two, then there was Romancing Your Wallet with $20 Dates Three and Four and yesterday, $20 Dates Continues with Dates Five and Six. Now we’ll do Dates Seven and Eight.

The Competitive Date

This date idea will be fun for those of you that are competitive and like a little friendly competition to get your blood pumping.

Go Bowling. Yes it can be very fun, reserve a lane at a local alley for an hour or two which is pretty cheap and see who can score the highest and the winner treats to ice cream. Make a bet that’s cheap and you’ll come out having had a lot of fun, getting a reward after all that and further, you got a little exercise! :D

In Pictures

This one involves creativity that you may or may not be inclined to disclose, be careful because this is such a great idea that your date may begin to expect such thoughtful dates and experiences with you…

Buy two instant cameras and go on a scenery hunt, drive through the different scenic parts of your town and your favorite beautiful sights and take pictures, make a few hours out of it, you can even start challenging each other to take mysterious pictures that you have to figure out when you develop them.

This next part you don’t disclose until you’ve put the pictures in for developing at a one hour developer - that’s key because you’re going to go pick up a small scrapbook and have lunch or a snack while the pictures develop. This is when you tell your date that you’ll be putting together a scrapbook of the pictures you took on this date after they’re developed to forever immortalize this date. You could even stencil the date in the front of the book.

Once you pick up the pictures, get some glue and scissors and make a memorial of this wonderful date - but make sure you keep the negatives in case you want to reprint later in higher quality.

I hope these ideas find you hopeful that you’ll have great dates with them and your date thinks you’re that much more special because of them!

Stay tuned so you don’t miss a thing on Sabrina’s Money Matters, you can make this easier by registering for new posts by email. :D

$20 Date Week Continued

So far I’ve given you four date ideas for less than $20 each.

There was Monday’s post “$20 Date Week Dates 1 & 2″ and Tuesday’s post “Romancing Your Wallet” which was an obscure reference to an 80’s movie that wasn’t really even that good, lol.

These next two date ideas are pretty simple, with the first being the most fun, I think.

Saturday Morning Cartoons & Breakfast

Start up the stove and turn on the tube, it’s a morning at home with laughs!

Here’s a simple and quick omelette recipe for you to use if you don’t have an adaptation of your own that is….

Four large eggs
Pinch of salt, a shake of black pepper
A little oil or butter for frying (or use a non-stick pan)
Optional: tablespoon of milk, and maybe a filling such as ham or pre-cooked vegetables, and a pinch of shredded cheese.

1. Break the eggs into a bowl and beat them with a pinch of salt and a little pepper. You may wish to add a tablespoon of milk to make the mixture go further and fluffier. You can stir pre-cooked vegetables into the mix after you’ve beaten the eggs.
2. Unless your frying pan is non-stick, add a few drops of oil or a teaspoon of butter to the pan and place over a medium heat.
3. Add the egg mixture to the pan, swirling it around so the bottom of the pan is covered. Cook gently until the top of the omelette stops looking runny (it will be firmer and lose the shiny appearance). The omelette should have a slightly golden colour.

That’s a nice and easy omelette recipe, serve up some toast and orange juice or a mojito (See Below for a Mojito recipe :D ) with that and you’ve got a great breakfast with a small time investment. Now go watch cartoons and just have a good time feeling like a kid again with your date.

1.5 oz BACARDI Rum
12 fresh spearmint leaves
1/2 lime
7 oz club soda
2 tbsp. simple syrup
(or 4 tsp. sugar)

For the smoothest summer cocktails, gently crush mint leaves and lightly squeeze lime in a cool tall glass. Pour sweet syrup to cover and fill glass with ice. Add Rum, club soda, and stir your emerging mojito well. Garnish with a lime wedge and a few sprigs of mint.

Far Away Beautiful Places

Okay maybe not really far away - but away from your normal beaten path is the idea….a change in scenery than what you or your date are used to seeing.

Find a local map online and pick a park with a pond within 20 miles of you that you haven’t ever been to and write down the directions for it, because that’s where your next date will be. :D

If you picked a park with a pond, those usually come with ducks and ducks are always fun to feed, they’re silly, noisy and cute all at the same time. If you like taking pictures this is a great time to remember the camera. (You could take a lot of pictures of your date on the sly this way, show them to her later and she’ll think that you really went to watch her have fun and laugh, which gets you points!)

This date doesn’t involve anyone but the ducks eating so bring a loaf of bread from the day old bread store and feed the ducks. Of course you could always make sandwiches like I mentioned on Monday or a simple cheese and cracker snack would be fine too if you’re spending more than an hour or two, what you do after this little date (which could be made to seem spontaneous, hint hint) is up to you of course, this was just an idea.

Have fun everyone, after all that’s why you’re dating!

Stay tuned all week for two new date ideas every day!
