It’s day number two in our $20 date week…so I have two more date ideas for you that are less than $20 to pull off.
You can appear to be thoughtful, romantic, sensitive and save money too! I hope some of these ideas help you to see how fun it can be to have a date without worrying over how much it will cost you.

I hope you like the outdoors because our next date is outside, fall is the perfect time to take your dates outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. This is a midmorning, mid-afternoon kind of date.

The Playdate…

Go to the park and play! Frisbee, frisbee golf, tag, touch football, play something, anything to get your blood pumping and gets you and your date laughing and having fun. It’s always great if there is a little munchkin sports game going on as well, it never fails to be cute and it gets you feeling carefree to see kids out there putting their best into a passtime. Life is so simple for kids, no worries, just playtime all the time. AND….girls always get mushy and start thinking about families…which could be a bonus for you. ;)

Frisbee at the Park

Now if your date hates children, skip the kids in the park - but DO go play, just do it at a park where there are no sports games going on, lol.

This is a good time to break out your incredible sandwich making skills and wow your date with an awesome sandwich on a nice day after a wonderful Playdate.

Here’s a great example of a delicious sandwich…

Fresh grilled chicken (not overcooked) sliced into thin slices on whole wheat bread (honey wheat is great too), Hellman’s mayo, lettuce, tomato with a dash of salt and pepper.

Sounds great doesn’t it? Throw some chips into the mix and you’re set for a great lunch outside.

Now, on to our number two date for the day. This will be indoors, I wanted to change things up a little. :D

Movie and Dessert!

This date calls for a movie rental..not too hard really, it’s a safe bet to pick a romantic comedy, or whatever you know your date will enjoy enough to be feeling like they’re on a date, not a seminar. LOL.

Adam Sandler has a knack for pulling off romantic comedies that aren’t so painful for men to watch, no corny lines really and the girls in those movies tend to be rebel rousers and outspoken - good movies. 50 First Dates is one of my absolute favorites.

Here’s the best part…dessert. Only this dessert calls for some special ingredients that have hidden inuendo that maybe you can use to your advantage. This is a DIY dessert but you share it when you’re done…

Banana Split!

1 ripe banana
3 scoops good-quality ice cream,
slightly softened (your choice of flavors)

Suggested Toppings:
2 to 3 Tbsp. Raspberry Topping, warm or cold
2 to 3 Tbsp. good-quality caramel
or butterscotch topping, slightly warmed
2 to 3 Tbsp. hot fudge sauce, slightly warmed

For Garnish:
Lightly sweetened whipped cream
Chocolate sprinkles
A maraschino cherry or two

Rinse and dry the banana, then peel it. Split the banana in half vertically (the long way), and place each half on an opposite side of your dish, seed side in. Working quickly, place three scoops of ice cream in a row, between the banana halves. Top each scoop with a different topping.

Garnish the banana split with lightly sweetened whipped cream (use it judicially here–you don’t want to cover up too much of the pretty effect of the toppings over the ice creams). Sprinkle the whipped cream lightly with chocolate sprinkles, then top with a maraschino cherry or two. Serve immediately!

Doesn’t that sound fantastic, and what better dessert to share?

Be good everyone! Be very very good!
