BlogRush CEO Makes Me Smile

I get email all day, everday and a lot of it is related to things I sometimes only take a passing interest in….I admit it. I get tons of emails that say this in the subject line…”Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd:….” and I don’t often read them, save for a few people I usually delete delete delete.

But I was sifting through email this morning and saw this email from the BlogRush CEO, typically with programs I’m involved with I’ll mark it as read and read it over the weekend.

BlogRush is a new widget here and on lots of other blogs because it’s so interactive and carries promise for bringing readers to your blog that are currently on a blog with a similar topic that features the widget.

I must admit, I’ve been skeptical of it and the email I received had much more than the part I’m going to show you. However, the language used to address scammers here is very strong and makes me smile because I feel this passionately about my content and my work and I can appreciate the dedication it takes to undertake the task this CEO intends to take on with these scammers.

I opened it and read a bit and then got to the juicy part, that I’ll now share with you….

And a quick word to any ‘cheats’ that might be reading this
letter… it’s very possible that you may come up with something
extremely creative that temporarily gets by us, but you should know
something… IT’S NOT GOING TO BE WORTH YOUR TIME. And I’m not just
talking about the tiny amount of traffic that you’ll receive before
we shut you off.

You see, we have other plans in the works…

If you attempt to cheat or abuse our network in anyway, shape, or
form, we will not hesitate to come after you. Our company is well
funded and has plenty of resources. And we WILL use them to punish
you to the fullest extent of the law (and civil court process). Oh,
you think you can just hide behind some anonymous proxy IPs? Sorry,
it’s not that easy. ANY reason you’d have to try and cheat the
BlogRush network for traffic and any attempt you make to monetize
that traffic will lead directly to your front door — whether it’s
AdSense, any affiliate program in the world, any online pharmacy,
porn site, casino… ANYTHING. We will follow the trail and it WILL
eventually lead to you.

Our hard-working company provides the income for MANY families. As
the CEO of our company, I take this very seriously. I HAVE TO.
People that attempt to abuse or cheat BlogRush are affecting the
livelihood of all my employees and their families. And I will do
everything in my power to protect them — it’s MY DUTY.

So for all you cheaters that joined BlogRush and had your fun trying
to siphon off some traffic, hopefully it was fun. And I’ll go ahead
and make this statement right now… IF you were one of the people
that has been cheating our network I’m going to give you ONE
opportunity… quit now and we’ll pretend it never happened. I
think that’s more than fair.

BUT… if you continue after this point, all bets are off. We WILL
eventually discover what you’re doing, where you’re trying to send
traffic, and we will prosecute you. I GUARANTEE IT. Sorry, but WE
HAVE NO CHOICE NOW.

* If you’re one of our valued, HONEST users, I’m very sorry you even
have to read stuff like that. I know it’s a waste of your time.
Unfortunately, there are unethical people in this world that attempt
to abuse and take advantage of others.

MOVING ON…

As a blogger I’m proud to feature their widget because of the passion and dedication this CEO has to bring a quality product to bloggers like me, that strive to bring quality content to you.

I’m Busted, But You’re a Winner!

I don’t have a post today! (but keep reading because you may win!) I wrote the beginnings of one last night and worked on it some more this morning, but it’s not finished (but keep reading because you may win!), I still have to upload screenshots and explore this other website a little further to prove it’s a scam before I present it to y’all. (but keep reading because you may win!)

So here’s what I’m gonna do. Anyone who comments on this post today gets an entry into the contest for the Gameboy Advance SP I’m giving away, and all that comes with it. So I’m going to leave this up as a main post for entries until Friday when we return to our regularly scheduled programming i.e. Fart Around Friday.

NO ONE IS BARRED FROM THIS CONTEST (except my husband, but surprisingly, he doesn’t read my blog….).

How’s that for self punishment? I get no linkbacks, no reviews or link love for this, but that’s what I get for not being ready for today.

Comment away folks, it’s a free-for-all!

There’s just three so far, come on people, it’s not hard to comment!

Testing the Waters of Identity Theft

I’m considering running a series on identity theft and wanted to see what you’d like to read about by asking a few questions…

Have you ever been a victim of identity theft?

What do you do to protect yourself from identity theft?

Here are a few of the ideas I had to write about, and feel free to comment here and direct me on a particular subject you may be interested in that I can focus attention on and feature here.

A step by step guide to placing a fraud alert on your credit file.

What to do if someone in your family is stealing your information and obtaining credit, or utilities, even apartments in your name.

The skinny on what credit reporting companies do to verify your identity before granting credit in your name.

The steps recommended for protecting yourself without being extremely paranoid.

If you stopped by yesterday you saw that some of my content has been stolen and I’m in the process of trying to eradicate my content on someone else’s site. I will keep you informed of the process, but I mention this now because of the invasion I feel. Similarly, identity theft is an invasion of your privacy for several reasons, the act of identity theft itself is an invasion into your life… your belongings and what you’ve worked hard for, in fact, it’s nearly as obscene as robbing someone’s house. I’ve experienced that as well. It creates such insecurity when someone has stolen from you, I’d like to get your feelings and address any particular questions or issues you may have.

For starters you should read my article on Getting Your Credit Report to obtain your report from the credit reporting agencies themselves and find out if you’re identity has been stolen.

Contact me if you’d prefer to email me your questions.
