Online Shopping - How Do You Shop Safely?

I was asked a question by a former co-worker a few weeks ago, and made a mental note to write about it, but hadn’t had the chance yet.

So today I will, a lot of people don’t shop online because they don’t know if they can trust it, will their identity get stolen? Will someone steal your information?

The hard answer is that it’s very possible that could happen. But the internet is not the only way your identity or information can be stolen anyways now is it? Nope. Someone could steal your mail; or a computer from an employee at your company, or at your health insurance company, or just by knowing you. The sad truth is sometimes family members even steal the identity of other family members.

But there are a few things you CAN do to protect yourself and your money. Tomorrow I’ll be writing about which accounts to use in you online shopping…

1. Read the disclosure statement on any website you’ll be purchasing from to find out how your information will be used.

2. Look for a security badge, or seal in the page where you enter your credit card information.

3. Shop at online retailers you trust, department stores are online now as well, you can even shop at your favorite malls on the internet in some places.

4. In some cases signing up for a credit monitoring service can be useful to you, namely if you’re trying to increase your credit score, you can also monitor for theft of your information and purchases you’ve not authorized.

Those are just a few tips, overall I think you can take these tips combined with your own good judgment and take the plunge and buy something online. You never know, you may become addicted to online shopping :D.

Success & Goals: What Motivates You?

I emailed one of my biggest “idols” today with 5 questions, and I’m really hoping he answers them.

I’ll of course bring the information to you after all, this blog is the reason I sent the questions to begin with. I won’t tell you who he is….yet.

That way no one is disappointed if he doesn’t have time to answer 5 little questions.

But now I turn to you, and ask you a few questions, step into the spotlight and be a Success Coach today and answer these questions for me…

1. How strong is your drive for success, and how do you define that success?

2. If you were to give financial advice, what would be the most important thing you could teach?

3. In terms of success, do you consider yourself successful and if so, why?

4. Do you desire to leave your mark on the world, in what way would you do so?

5. What motivates you?

There’s your challenge for the day, if you write a comment long enough, I just may turn it into a post for you :D! Don’t hesitate to take up your soapboxes and preach!

I want to hear from everyone today about YOUR life, goals and dreams.

FreeTriple3.com is a SCAM!

I was watching VH1 yesterday, the Top 20, lol. In the middle of a ten minute stretch of commercials I see one about FreeTriple3.com.

They boast offering you credit report information from “ALL THREE BUREAU’S!” 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

So I wrote the name of the website down and decided I’d check it out when I got a second.

Today I got a second and here’s what I saw…

Screen Shot of FreeTriple3.com HomePage

I kind of already knew what I would find, and sadly I was right.
Check it out…
