This is a post I’ve been meaning to write for a while, for those of us who’ve had information of ours stolen you know the violated feeling even though you’ve never physically seen signs of this person. Your credit file is the key to so many things in life, it’s nothing short of grotesque that someone would invade that inner santum of securityl. But someone has and now you need to stop them, you have to act quickly.

Here’s the information you need, and some other information that you’ll need as well in the event your identity is stolen or being manipulated, your credit report is not the place at which you stop notifying companies you interact with.

Fraud Contact Information

Use the numbers on this page to contact the different private and public agencies about fraud. Especially important are the credit bureaus. Asking them to put a “fraud alert” on your credit file should slow down anyone trying to open more credit in your name.
