So I got the DS Lite on Tuesday…wonderful. I love it. My husband is already about to beat the New Super Mario Brothers for DS.

Wow.

I’ve always said I’m late to my generation, I mean, everything people in high school were doing, I did in my early twenties, etc. Video games are new to me, sure I played a few when I was younger hanging out with friends, but as for me, never had a game system before of my own in my life.

So anyways, my husband really wants a DS of his own, and I have an ulterior motive. So he mentions in passing all the change we’ve saved up in the last few months…which happens to be enough to buy a DS Lite new.

Light bulb moment!

Now that he’ll have his own DS I can play mine whenever and don’t have to share (BONUS!)…and I get to expand my gameplay through him! He kicks butt at every game and can then help me out…he’s got a black belt in Nintendo. :)

But the point of the post is this. One person, $40 a week allowance and after six short months, I had saved $140 in change. I never use my change, there are no coke machines where I work, or snack machines, so if i get anything, I have to drive somewhere, change goes in the ashtray and my purse and builds.

Get a big cup, or a Jack Daniels bottle which is my personal preference, and save some money effortlessly!
