I was talking to my son this morning about what I do on the internet, and vaguely explaining that I make money on the internet while I was looking at my Survey Savvy stats online. I showed him that I had 17 referrals and one person who had signed up under me had gotten a survey and completed it so I made $2.00 off of that.
He was perplexed. He asked what the $2 was for, so I explained that the things people use and buy, companies want to know how they like the product, so they can make more of that product or make something better (simplest I could explain it) and they pay people like me to tell them what we think. He raised his eyebrows and said, “That’s crazy.”
From the mouths of babes.
My son is very interested in what I’m doing because I set up a jewelry button on my page, so he’s always looking at the jewelry asking if he can have what he sees, this morning it was a nice looking ring with roman numerals like a clock around the outside, size 11.
This 9 year old, whose fingers are only as wide yet as pencils, asks for a size 11 ring, and his justification for having it even though it was too big was he’ll wear it on his necklace and grow into it.
Funny how they turn things around on you.
We’re taking a break from our regularly scheduled tips to bring you a **Free Stuff** sideline…free silver jewelry!!
Two weeks ago I stumbled upon a website that gives away silver jewelry and all you pay is shipping. I was prepared to see jewelry that was cheap looking and ridiculous, but I didn’t, I saw tasteful, classy jewelry.
I’ve often been called a gypsy in jest. I love rings and earrings, I have three sets of earrings on every day and five to seven rings on any given day. But in India, gypsies are good luck, so I no longer care about being called a gypsy.
I looked at all the things they had on the front page, which is four, and then looked at the stuff coming up. I gotta tell you, I check the site everyday. Today they had a Mens’ ID bracelet that I thought looked really awesome, I have to control myself though.
The bonus is that I didn’t have to go anywhere and hassle with loud teeny-bopper music to get my jewelry so it was an even better experience.
So listen, Mothers’ Day is coming and you can look like hero and pay zero for what you get that wonderful Mother of yours (or) the Mother of your children!
But just so all you men know, they have really nice rings they give away, bracelets, necklaces that are awesome. Keep your eyes on the site folks..
This edition is all about saving money on your mortgage. This isn’t something most of us think much about because, it’s a mortgage, how do you work with that?
Pay an extra principal payment on your 30-year loan each month. On a 30-year $100,000 loan at 6 1/2%, the monthly principal payment in the first years are approximately $90 to $105/month.
At the end of a 30 year note without any extra payments, you’ve paid $227,544.49 with your interest being $127,544.49. If you add only one additional payment per year you’ve paid $185,980.00 with total interest paid being $85,980.00.
That’s at least worth thinking about.
Still another way to save money on your mortgage is to pay one half of your monthly mortgage every two weeks. By the end of the year, you’ve painlessly paid an extra payment.
If you structure it so that your payments are early so that the full amount is in by the due date, you can probably manage to do this without incurring any additional fees. For an additional surcharge per month, the bank that holds your house note will usually structure such a payment plan for you. I feel it’s best just to manage it yourself. Prepayment penalties only apply if you pay the mortgage off inside of three to five years after purchase, depending of course on your particular mortgage agreement.
